History

2001:

After SSV Ulm 1846 went bankrupt, Basketball Ulm GmbH is founded by managing partners Andreas Oettel and Dr. Thomas Stoll, using the license for the 2nd German Basketball League

2005:

Jeff Gibbs signed with ratiopharm ulm and became known as “Mr. Incredible“

2006:

ratiopharm ulm moved up to the 1st German Basketball League (BBL)

2009:

After ten years of missing the playoffs, ratiopharm ulm finally finished in the top eight of the German league and went to the post-season

Construction of the ratiopharm arena is officially decided

2010:

ratiopharm ulm was the only BBL club to provide two players for the German national team at the World Championship in Turkey Robin Benzing was the highest scoring German in the Beko BBL

2011:

The ratiopharm arena is opened

2012:

ratiopharm ulm qualified for European competition

ratiopharm ulm reached the Beko BBL Finals, finishing runners-up in the German championship to Brose Baskets Bamberg

3rd in the Beko BBL Cup

Head Coach Thorsten Leibenath received Beko BBL “Coach of the Year” award

Center John Bryant received Beko BBL MVP award

Point guard Per Günther received the “Pascal Roller” award

2013:

ratiopharm ulm reached the Eurocup Quarter-Finals

ratiopharm ulm reached the Beko BBL Semi-Finals (vs. Oldenburg)

Beko BBL Cup runner-up (in final against Alba Berlin)

Per Günther again received the “Pascal Roller” award

John Bryant again received the Beko BBL MVP award

Bryant also named MVP of All-Star Game

2014:

ratiopharm ulm reached the Eurocup Last 16

Beko BBL Cup runner-up (Beko BBL TOP FOUR Final vs. ALBA BERLIN)

ratiopharm ulm reached the Beko BBL Quarter-Finals (vs. ALBA BERLIN)

Per Günther again received the “Pascal Roller” award and the Social Media Award for the first time
